what's accomodation like in Zanzibar?

Hi, I will be traveling along with my wife to Africa and it is planned for us to spend a couple of days in Zanzibar. We heard some stories that these parts of Africa can be dangerous for tourists like ourselves. We also are aware of the severe climatic conditions so we were wondering whats the accommodation like in Zanzibar?

Hi, the accommodation in Zanzibar goes from small beach resorts to 5 star hotels. I would definitely recommend that you go to a luxurious hotel since they are the only ones that can provide all that you may need. Air conditioning is essential with this type of climate and you wont find that in the low class accommodations. There are a few hotels that cover almost all of the usual facilities and are really comfortable to stay in. The Chavda Hotel is a three star one and its a fair enough place to stay in. Though I must stress out that this one hasnt got a swimming pool. There is the Sau Inn Hotel which looks more like bungalows to me . Its a nice hotel though but you wont find a swimming pool here either. This one is a little less expensive. If the swimming pools arent a must for you, then youll probably love it here.
