| I must say that I was laughing, when I read your question about Bangkok and whether it was safe town. My friend, I was there last year and I saw and heard some terrible stories. First I heard that locals can put some drugs into your drink. It is called scopolamine I think. After a drink you loose conscious, but also your valet. The bad thing is that you can be overdosed by these crooks and end up dead as many tourists have. Ive also heard that there is some jewelry scam. I dont know many details, but I think they try to make you buy some jewelry in order to sell it in your country. I think its better for you to carry only a few hundred dollars in cash. The rest let it be in travelers checks. Do not change money on the street, nor talk to strangers. Dont drink solo in the pub. Always look into your drink. Wear cheap clothes and no jewelry if possible. |
