Accommodation around Paddington Station in London?

I will be visiting my friend in London next week. He is living close to Paddington Station so I guess I will be looking for accommodation in that area. Also, since this was a sudden invitation I dont think I will be able to spend much money on a hotel, so I would need info on somewhat cheaper places to stay at.

In that case, I would recommend a two star rated Seymour Hotel. Rooms go from the price of 49 pounds and there are 19 rooms available. The address is 106 Sussex Gardens, Hyde Park. It is just a short walk away from the Paddington Station so I guess that fits your needs perfectly. Also, this hotel is known for its convenient position, you can reach most parts of the city easily from there.
