| Well, hello to you Joanne, as well. I seem to be just the right person to answer to your question. Namely, I was in Cambodia three months ago, and yes there were some remains from the past and their violent history. However, Cambodia is a certainly a place to visit. One of the most popular tourist attractions is Angkor Wat, it is enourmous both in size and its beauty. For learning about Kmer history, Phom Pen is a must, with attractions located there Independence monument, National museum, Wat Phnom etc. What is important is that it is not expensive, so you will have no problem seeing whatever interests you. You should also try Kmer food, which is mainly based on meat and sweets. |
