How to split time between Santorini and Crete?

Me and my husband are planing a trip to Greece.We were planing to visit Crete and Santorini but we also need to split the time for both of them.That is because we just don't have time to stay as long as we won't.We have 8 days to split.So,how to split time between Santorini and Crete?Thank you!

Ive been to Santorini last summer.Its beautiful,amazing.From my experience,i think its better to spend 5 days on Santorini and the rest on Crete.I enjoyed Santorini more,for me that was haven and Crete was just another tourist place full of people.On Santorini is less crowded with people,and expenses are almost the same.Crete is very big and on Santorini is more relaxing.Anyway,it depends of what you want to do-relax or have a wild summer without any rest.
