Ive always been fascinated with pilgrimage to Mecca, and since this year Im going to the Red Sea to spend my vacation, I was wondering whether a non-Muslim can go there. I dont want to make an act of sacrilege, and if there is a possibility, at least under some circumstances, please explain me what they are. It doesnt have to be during the pilgrimage period.

I dont think a non-Muslim is allowed to enter Mecca, but Im not sure. Still, its a holy city and we should respect that. I read stories about non-Muslims, who tried to visit Mecca despite the rule, and they disguised as Muslims and then took part in hajj, but now I think its impossible, because of rigorous safety measures. I dont think it would be fair to break such a rule. Im not very religious but I support tolerance and I believe that people shouldnt visit holy places if theyre not truly religious and capable of fully realizing their importance. Also, prayer is an intimate act and people should feel relaxed while they practice it.
