Transport in Iran

Despite my wife protests Im traveling to Iran. My company is establishing a new branch in Teheran and Ill be in charge of that region. That means Ill be visiting Iran frequently in the future. What is the transport in Iran like? I hope I wont have to travel through the country and leave Teheran, but one never knows and its better to inform on time.

Ive never been in Iran, but I know that its transport is not so good. It has highways and railroads but Id suggest you not to use that kind of transport nevertheless. If you have to travel use airplanes. There are numerous airports all over the country and I reckon its the safest and fastest way to get to any destination. Since youre going on a business trip I suppose that youll be given a car with a driver, but Id avoid traveling out of Teheran by car. I know I sound dramatic, but thats because America and its citizens are not among the most popular in Iran due to that nuclear program issue.
