I will go on a student trip to London in a month and I am interested in food prices in London. I am not quite in a position to spend too much money on it. I know there are various prices, but I suppose that quality of food varies too. If someone can suggest some decent places to eat for the relatively limited amount of money, it would help me a lot.

You are right about the varieties in prices as well as in quality of food. Food in London can be dreadful indeed, unless money is no object. Since that is not the case, there still are a few options. You will need to plan some 50/$90 a head for a good restaurant, or one that's any way near fashionable. However, there is a great variety of cuisines there, from Afghan to Indian or Mexican, so the prices can vary. There are several Indian restaurants that have meals starting already at $15. Nevertheless, if you dont plan going to the restaurant, there are very good prices for sandwiches and other fast food. For example, you can have a great sandwich in, say, Marks & Spencer for only $4. There are places even cheaper than Marks and Spencer. Try Benji's or Greggs where sandwiches start at $2. All in all, do not worry. Even if you have the tightest budget, you will be able to have a good meal in London
