We have recently booked onto one of the Arctic cruises, and I am really looking forward to it. I am sure it is going to be great fun. But most of all, I would like to have a close encounter with a polar bear. Does this happen often? Is there a realistic chance of this happening?
If you go with one of the specialized scientific teams, then you might be fortunate enough to meet a polar bear from up close. Seeing them from a distance is more common, although you should keep in mind that there are no guarantees for this before you set off on the trip. Have a good time even if this wish of yours is not fulfilled.
