Can I find cats from Lake Van in Istanbul?

I am going to travel to Istanbul this spring and I have a question for board visitors. As I like cats very much I am interested in having Van cat as a pet, but I am not sure if I can find it in the city. Do I have to go to the lake? Please answer, as this is very important to me.

Hello! I think you might buy a Venn cat in a pet shop in Istanbul, but I am really not sure if you can simply take the cat away with you as those cats are protected and I believe that there are special rules for export that would apply to this.
