What are the good places for shopping in Japan?

Is there anyone who could inform me more about good places for shopping in Japan?
I should go on a week trip to this country next week, and I pretty much know how I want to spend that time there. I collected almost all the necessary information, but I remembered I know nothing about shopping places two nights ago.

Well, I am not really sure if you are interested in buying high quality items only or not, but anyway, the most popular location for shopping in Tokyo for example, is Ginza. In case you are interested in more than this, then you should probably check out Takashimaya Times Square, and numerous flea markets in this city.
Unfortuantely, i know nothing about other places in Japan.
