Snowboarding in Australia?

I like snowboarding. My girlfriend has some relatives in Australia so we are going there. We will visit them but we will also enjoy our prolonged vacation there. Her relatives know that I like snowboarding and claim that I can snowboard there. I find this hard to believe. Snowboarding in Australia? Nah.

Oh yes. You can snowboard in Australia. You may find this hard to believe, but snowboarding is very popular in Australia. There are many people who not only enjoy this sport but compete successfully. There are associations, competitions, stores where you can buy equipment, web sites, forums, etc. for snowboarding. Australians are successfully competing at international snowboarding events and competitions.
