I am visiting Machu Picchu and Lima. Now I need some help about making trip plan. How long should I stay in Machu Picchu? Are there any hotels there? How far is it from Lima since both are in Peru? I would be very grateful if you shared your experiences with me. One more question: Where to stay in Lima?

The mountain stone site of Machu Picchu had been forgotten until the beginning of the 20th century when one archeologist discovered it again. It remained from the times of the Inca (they built it) and is at more than two thousand meters height. It served as a settlement and was independent from other settlements because it had its own water supplies. The stone structures served as houses. It is really one of the most impressive sites in the world. There are some hotels in Aguas Calientes, but not at Machu Picchu, I think. Lima is the capital of Peru with beautiful architectural works. You fly from Lima to Cusco and then reach Aguas Calientes by train. There is a bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu.
