Which town in Algarve Region in Portugal to visit?

My wife always wanted to see Europe and I guess that this year we just might have the opportunity for that. Enough money and time. So I think she would like to visit Portugal first, especially because she has some friends living there in Algarve region. So, which town in that area should we visit?

I think that Portimao might be the place you are looking for. And once there search for Bela Vista Hotel, it is on the main avenue. The service there is really excellent and I think that would be a good start in exploring Europe. I also assume that you will be making at least couple of day trips, if nothing else, to see Porto and Lisbon.
