We are going to Italy this summer and most likely we will be staying in Florence for several weeks. Of course, we will be making several day trips; one of those will be to Siena? Is there a local bus from Florence to Siena? Do we have to book it on time and are there seat reservations?

I will have to disappoint you, there are no seat reservations, so if you come in time, you will sit, if not… It is especially crowded during weekends, so you might want to skip those days for your trip. Although, standing for couple of hours is not a big deal, especially when you know that it will be worth the trouble, once you are in Siena.
