Where to have a romantic weekend in California?

Hi. My husband to be and I could do with some time away from everyone and everything, turn off the mobiles and the computer and just enjoy each other. We have decided to spend a romantic weekend in California, but where? Has anyone been there recently and could you give us some suggestions? Which hotel did you stay at and what were your impressions?

I went to the Bay Area in San Francisco recently and had a wonderful time over there. I just want to tell you to make sure you stay somewhere on the coast. And I think an apartment would be the ideal option for you! Often cheaper, and you have more freedom, and can cook some of your own meals too. No one will wake you up wanting to change the sheets and clean the room either, which might be a big plus.
