Does Cancun have nice public beaches?

I am thinking about going to Mexico. My friends have been there and according to their stories, I should go to. I am thinking about Cancun. I saw a TV show the other day and it seems like a perfect place to me. I would like to know if Cancun has nice public beaches. If so, then I would immediately book my hotel and pack up my things.

Well, you have to know that all beaches in Playa del Carmen are open to the public. There are many access points to the beach all along the coast. If you keep going north, the access points get less frequent. You have to bear one thing in mind though. In spite of the fact that all beaches are public, access to some of them is restricted because of private property. Unfortunately, you can’t cross private property just to access a beach. So you have to stick to the access points and you will be OK.
