My friends want to go to Mexico. I am thinking of joining them. We are thinking about driving down there. What do you think about this? Some people say that it is not such a good idea while the others say that it is OK. Is it better to drive or not to drive in Mexico?

Well, it depends on your preferences. If you are planning to drive to Mexico you just have to pay attention to certain things. You have to bring your papers, car title (it has to be in your name or you have to have permission granted from the owner that you can drive his car to Mexico), you have to buy Mexican insurance and pay some fees. Don’t be surprised if you drive fast and see buses passing you by. You have to pay attention to the pedestrians on the roads in certain areas. Also you have to beware of the holes, livestock and rocks on the road. Police may try to take your driver’s license. You can bribe them and go away even in the case that they threaten you with the traffic ticket. Also signs are not as visible as you may have been accustomed to. Don’t drive during the night if not necessary. Other than the above mentioned, you can enjoy your ride in Mexico.
