What's the best way from Rome to Civitavecchia?

I will be taking a cruise leaving from Civitavecchia. I plan to take the train from the Termini station in Rome because the taxi is pretty expensive. My question is does anyone know if you have to change train at Trastevere? I was told that you buy a ticket to go from Rome to Trastevere and then you need to buy one more ticket to go from Trastevere to Civitavecchia.

Those were not correct information. All trains from Rome to Civitavecchia are direct trains. Many of them stop at various stations en route, including Roma Trastevere, but no change of train is necessary. I have taken the train from Rome to Civitavecchia from the main station, it was a platform 26 or 27 (can’t remember exactly) and went at 10 minutes to the hour and every hour and there is no need to change.
