| Hi! I am going to Athens, but it is an excursion which includes visits to Greece and Turkey. We will spend three days in Greece, but just one day in Athens. It’s because we also plan to pay short visits to the Greek Isles. One day is left for Athens. I know that’s not enough, but what can we do? What to do in Athens for the day? |

| Athens is full of beautiful sites. Here are some of the sites you mustn’t miss: Acropolis as the symbol of the Ancient Greece, situated on the hill above Athens; however, in winter months, you can’t enter Acropolis in the afternoon because the working hours in winter are shortened. Another site you should see is Olympic Site & Museum. If you like to meet the urban and modern face of Athens, then, go to Plaka. It is a very old part of the city, maybe the oldest one, known for cobblestones and old buildings. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants you can sit in for some refreshment. This is also a good place for buying souvenirs. |
