What's Montreal like in winter?

I’m writing from Denver, Colorado. I was interested in knowing a bit more about what’s Montreal like in winter, I’m supposed to go there somewhere between January and February next year. I suppose that it is cold and I would like to know also a bit more about the atmosphere there.

As for the temperatures, it gets really, really cold in Montreal during the winter, January is usually the coldest month, the average temperature is about -10°C. It usually snows and than the city is magnificent! So, it is better to be prepared for the big cold, specially if it is windy!
