| I am about to visit Germany and planning to make some kind of tour de Germany trip, if I could call it that way. One of my friends lives in Munich and I will spend few days at his place and then I would like to see Berlin. I am not much nuts about trains, although that kind of cruise allows you in best way to see the scenery of one country, so I am thinking to take a night train. I just wonder if there is any overnight train from Munich to Berlin. |

| True. Traveling by train is a good way to see and pass through one country, although could be a long ride, so usually people are taking night departures so could spend that time in sleeping, I guess. German railway is as far as I recall well organized, not allowing delays to happen. From Munich to Berlin you could use services of Die Bahn (German railway). Maybe you could look for some rail passes, which are allowing you to get some discount and travel by their trains for certain amount of days. If you are going for just this destination then you have night trains from Munich to Berlin from 7 pm to 11 pm (exact departure time depends on which day you are leaving Munich). This is direct train Munich-Berlin connection so your trip suppose to last approximately (depending what kind of train you will take, express or slower then express but still fast train) from 5- 8 hours or a bit more and price of 2nd class ticket is around 100-120 euros. Local trains are slower for sure and cost less money, about 70 euros, but the ride is 2-3 times longer. Possibility of taking a sleeping car is optional, but I think you should make a reservation on time. I am suggesting you this way of train cruise, cause I think if you are in Germany then you should travel in German way. |
