Hi! I will be flying this winter from Canada to Italy. This is my first trip by plane anywhere, so I am not really familiar with the procedure. What are the limitations for customs in Italy? Also, I would like to know if there are some specific things I must not bring in the country. Thanks for the help.

First of all, customs are unique for the entire EU, and Italy is a member, as you know. In most cases, there will be a door that are saying ''Nothing to Declare''. Go through the door and do not worry about anything. If you are not smuggling several dozens of dry cookers, ovens or vacuum cleaners, you will not have any problems. Seriously, though, it is strictly forbidden to take any kind of meat, sausages or similar things that have expiration date. By no means pack anything belonging to the category. Also, the whole airport procedure does not last too long, so you should be done relatively quickly.
