I would like to go to Sri Lanka in few months. Although I don’t like to travel alone, this year I have to do just that. My friends are not available and my new boyfriend is not willing to go with me. I am concerned about the safety. Is it safe to travel solo in Sri Lanka?

Yes it is. The vast majority of the violent crimes happen within the local community. In such cases the people who know each other are involved. In very rare occasions the crime is directed to foreigners. There is a possibility of petty crime, like theft of personal property and pick pocketing if you don’t take appropriate measures to protect your things.
