I don’t like public transportation. I avoid it as much as possible but I know that sometimes I have to use it, especially when I’m abroad. I’m going to Virgin Islands and St. Thomas this summer and I have heard about their public transportation called Vitran buses. What can you tell me about them? How reliable it is to ride in public transportation there?

As it is the case with almost all popular tourist destinations, Virgin Islands and St. Thomas have various means of transportation. For example, there are rent-a-car services. If you have a driver’s license you can see how affordable this is for you. Another possibility is to use ferries as they cover the whole island. Vitran buses are also available for all parts of the island and they run very frequently but the problem can be in the fact that they are not too reliable as they tend to late so if you have something scheduled I’d suggest you to use another option for transportation. There is also taxi service, but bear in mind that they never use taximeter.
