I have a question about my upcoming vacation in Tunisia. I’m going there and since I like to travel through the whole country instead of staying in just one place I need to know whether it is possible to get round Tunisia with English because that is the only language that I can speak. I know that the official language there is probably Arabic, but I hope that people understand English.

I think that you can get round just fine wherever you go with English but you should know that beside the official language which is I also suppose some of Arabic languages, Tunisian people speak French because Tunisia used to be a French colony until the middle of the last century. Anyway, I think that in almost all tourist resorts English is spoken because tourists mainly use it for communication. Maybe it would be good if you could learn a couple of the most common French phrases so that you can ask for help or where you are or similar basic things. You can even bring a French vocabulary just in case.
