| First of all I’d like to state that I’m not a religious person, but this doesn’t mean that I don’t respect religious people and their religions. I like to travel and visit countries with various religions and I like to visit churches, cathedrals, mosques and temples because I see them as great works of art. It seems to me that India has a rich religious heritage because of its religious diversity. Am I right? |

| You are completely right. There are four religions with large number of followers in India – Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. Of course, other religions such as Christianity or Islam are also present and this religious diversity is, in my opinion, greatly responsible for shaping the culture and tradition of this wonderful but poor country. Unfortunately, sometimes it seems to me that besides creating this wonderful artistic heritage and multicultural climate, religious diversity in certain countries, such as India, can cause some ethnic problems. Still, I think that only by this diversity we can learn the tolerance and how to respect other people, nations and religions. To cut the long story short, India is the right place if you are want to see the true ‘melting pot’ of religions. |
