| Well, although Sicily is very traditional and patriarchal society, you can even walk down the streets holding hands in some cities, feeling secure. But, do not expect you will be unnoticed, just tolerated, because you are tourist’s .In smaller towns and villages, I do not think you would like to do something like that, you would be causing unneeded attention that way. But you are quite safe in Catania for example, and even Taormina, even though it is a small town. But, this kind of behavior is tolerated only in tourists, there are very homophobic when it comes to their neighbors , friends and family. |
