Hello people! I have just graduated from university and I will spend this summer traveling and enjoying myself. The first country on my visit list is Colombia and I intend to go to Cartagena but, of course, I first want to see Bogota so I will fly to the capital and after that I plan to travel to Cartagena, most probably by bus. Do you think that it is safe and ok?

Congratulations! I really don’t think that it is too risky to travel by bus in Colombia. I guess that drivers know where it is safe to drive and it is much better option to travel by bus then to rent a car and drive on Colombian roads yourself. I know that many people are worried about visiting Colombia because it is considered to be quite unsafe but I also know that this goes for almost whole South America and still millions of tourists visit this continent. I would just suggest you to avoid suspicious parts of the city and traveling alone. If you are worried about safety on the road, you can also fly from Bogota to Cartagena.
