How expensive are hotels in Barcelona?

For the last few years I have been visiting major European cities. Now, it is time for Barcelona. Since I travel a lot, I tend not to spend much money for hotels and staying places. I would like to know how expensive are hotels in Barcelona? I would not like to leave fortune just for a room, but on the other hand, I do not need a dodgy place too.

In your case I would have to recommend Banys Orientals as one of the places that would meet your needs. It is located in the center of Barcelona. Even though it is very affordable, I have to say that some rooms are small (especially several double ones). I have a friend that stayed there and is very satisfied. The only thing that he complained about was that once he could not take a shower, because there was no hot water.
