Im going to spend next two months in Japan. Since Ill have to use their rail system for public transportation Id like to know the difference between Ordinary and Evergreen Train Pass. I also dont know which one of the two to pick. Is it true that public transportation in Japan is impeccably accurate? I cant wait to get there, because Im sick of our trains which are unpunctual and dirty.

Its true. Japan has the best public and other kinds of transportation in the world. Everything is running like clockwork there, not only public transportation. You also should know that being late is considered to be rude and if youre there on business that might cost you signing a contract. There are Standard and Green Rail Pass. Standard is ordinary while Green is something like the first class. The Rail Pass is valid for the purchased period which can be seven, fourteen or twenty-one days. Green Pass is, of course, more expensive, but as weve already concluded Japanese trains are punctual, clean and fast, so I dont think its necessary to buy the first class pass, since standard compartments are also good.
