Best time in year to visit Chile?

What is the best time of year to visit Chile? I’d like to go there at the time when the weather is pleasant but neither too hot nor too cold. It would be great to swim in the Pacific Ocean but I really wouldn’t like to breathe heavily under the sizzling sun. What’s the climate of Chile like, anyway?

It is a good question. As you know, Chile is a very interesting country which spreads along the whole South American continent and as such is has different climates in different parts. There is a part of country with Mediterranean climate and the other in which it is sub-tropical but generally speaking, there are all four seasons in almost whole country. I would suggest you to go to Chile during the early summer or early autumn because I suppose that those are the seasons which you would find pleasant. Of course, I can’t be sure whether you will be able to swim along the whole coast because in certain regions it is almost impossible because of cool summers.
