| Is tipping acceptable in Mali? I am going to a seminar in this country, and I want to learn some basic things about it, in order not to get myself in some strange situation. So, a friend advised me not to leave tips while I am there, because they may find tipping offensive. Is it really so? What would you advise me to do? |

| : I think your friend is not right, when it comes to matter of tipping in Mali. They have some different customs, but for tipping, 10 percent tip in top of the bill is considered normal, if you are satisfied with the service. But there are some other rules you should follow. One of them is dressing code, it is very important for them. You should dress modestly and kind of formally-No matter the heat, shorts is considered kids wear there, and you should avoid it.Mali has many interesting sights that you should visit, but be sure to avoid travelling at night or alone. |
