| What is the best place to stay while in Timbuktu? I am going to Mali with my wife, on a short vacation, and visiting Timbuktu is a part of our itinerary. For some places I have already decided where to stay at, but could not gather enough info for Timbuktu, so I thought you could help me. Many thanks for all the suggestions |

| Well, in my opinion you can stay in Hotel la Colombo, because it is almost impossible to find better hotels there. They are simply nonexistent. This one is a decent roof to sleep under, but do not expect too much, it is just what things are like in third world countries. The service is friendly and kind though, but do not even think about trying out their food, it is gross. The hotel is clean and tidy, so it is a great plus. But I think a trip to Timbuktu is worth it, because there are so many interesting things one can see there. |
