Hiking Whistler, Pemberton and Hope in October

I intended to engage myself in some physical activities during my October vacation. A friend suggested that I could do some hiking in Whistler, Pemberton and Hope areas and of course stay in some nearby lodge or hotel. I have to say that idea really sounds nice, but I would require some additional info before I make my final decision. Can you help me out?

Pemberton village is 20 minutes by a car away from Whistler. Its location is very beautiful, between impressive mountains in a river valley. So, I guess it is really excellent for all those who want to spend their vacations surrounded by nature. I guess you are the type of person who would rather explore that same nature than watch it from the hotels room. And the name of the hotel you would really like to stay at is Pemberton Valley Lodge.
