Dear forum people. The wife and myself would like to treat ourselves to a nice holiday together. We saw pictures of Dubrovnik on the news in connection with the forest fires that were taking place in the summer just gone. Terrible those fires but the place looked rather nice. We thought we could give their economy and ourselves a boost by going there. What do you think of our plan?

No, that is a terrible idea! Dubrovnik is very stunning indeed but sadly to say its visitors are less so. It is a hot spot for grandmothers and Russians who are not rich enough to visit Cyprus. If you want to visit Croatia you might be better off in Split, or indeed on the Istrija peninsula, which are very stunning indeed. Good luck with making your decision and have a lovely holiday.
