Can you swim at the Everglades?

I am thinking to go to Florida this year, it is still not definite but most likely it will happen. While I am there, I am planning to have as much outdoor activities as I can, trying to get the office regime of life out of my system a bit. I am thinking maybe to spend some time in Evergladess area, so I wonder could I swim there?

I know that they are offering swim with dolphins adventure so I guess there are areas for swimming. Well port is not included for obvious reasons, but I think you could try to find your swimming spot a bit south or north from the Port Everglades. Water in this area is a bit tricky, so more then hour is not recommendable you could get feeling of dizziness if you stay longer.
