Can you suggest an Italian resturant in Manhattan?

I will go to New York and I am planning to book a room in Manhattan area. I must say that I am quite a gourmet who is especially keen about Italian food. Somehow from my early childhood I developed that love for Mediterranean cooking. So while I am in Manhattan I wonder if there are any good Italian restaurants in this area that you could recommend to me.

Are there any Italian restaurants in Manhattan? What a silly question we are talking about New York here! Of course there are, plenty of them, so relax. I will suggest you to go to San Luigis Italian Kitchen, where anything you order salad, sea food meal or grandmas lasagna is just being delicious, cant make mistake with what ever you pick from the menu when you are there. Atmosphere and service is just great so all you have to do is take a trip to 311 Amsterdam Ave and look for Luigi.
