Planning on renting a car from Hawaii airport to the resorts

Hello, my boyfriend and I are planning on traveling to Hawaii in a few weeks so we want to know a couple of things. Since this will be our first time to go there we are wondering how easy will it be to rent a car and drive to Destination Resorts Hawaii where we will be staying. We need any kind of tips considering cheep car renting etc.

If renting a car at the airport is unpleasant for you due to the hectic atmosphere and overbooking try renting a car at a company that is located a few miles away from the airport. This way you will be able to get the car in a more relaxing and calm atmosphere. Most of the rental companies offer the same conditions as far as renting a car goes so it will be all the same whatever you choose.
