What can you do in Laos?

My husband and I are going to Laos this year, in October, perhaps November. We have spent our last vacation in Asia too, in China and we wish to investigate more this beautiful continent and its inhabitants. What can you do in Laos? We would like to see some interesting things and experience best this country has to offer to a complete foreigner. Although we cannot be called complete foreigners, since we have already met with Asian culture.

If you are looking for experiencing the traditional way of living in this region (Southeast Asia). This is due to the isolation Laos had so it was not affected that much by foreign tradition and culture. Its development level is not high at all; thanks to the fact this country was one of the three ex French Indochinese states. Best period for visiting this country would be between November and February, it rains the least then.
