I have an invitation to come to Brazil for several weeks. It looks like a dream vacation that fell into my lap. I will be staying with several friends, so it will be even cheaper not having to pay for the hotel. However, one thing that worries me are massive delays on the airports I heard of. Is it just a speculation, or the truth?

Well, massive delays are probably a bit exaggeration, but there certainly are delays, although that really depends from the airport. For example, the busiest airport, Congonhas in Sao Paulo, usually runs at the maximum capacity at the peak of the season. If anything at all goes wrong with its operation, if there is any malfunctioning, there will surely be massive delays. On the other hand, some smaller towns present no problem. Currently, everything works properly, although very strained. If you have such an invitation definitely do not miss it, but be prepared for at least some delay.
