Heres the thing: I want to go to Manali this year with my family and everything is sold out except for a week during August. My concern is the weather there in that period. Are we supposed to bring lots of warm clothes? Last year when we visited India, it rained heavily and all the fun was spoiled. Hope well have more luck this year.

I think August can be rainy in Manali, but you need not worry too much. Weather is generally mild then and it can be a bit chilly in the evening, so make sure you bring warm jackets especially if you plan on visiting higher regions nearby and it would be such a shame to go there and miss the opportunity to see glaciers and magnificent mountain tops. And were talking the Himalayan mountains here, bear that in mind. The monsoon will have passed by August I guess, and occasional showers wont be a problem. Try to enjoy and have fun.
