Amsterdam hotels: American, Estherea or Ambassade?

Some help please, people, I am going to Amsterdam and need to decide which hotel to stay at. I narrowed it down to three options: the American, Estherea or Ambassade hotels. Do you have experience with any of these and which do you think I should choose? Thanks for your comments

I stayed at the Ambassade last year and thought it was a very nice hotel. It looks out over the canal, so the view is great but also the hotel building itself is wonderful. A traditional canal-side house and on the inside all the rooms are unique and different. I would certainly go there again if I were in Amsterdam.
