Looking for a hiking guidebook that covers the UK. Anything from day trips to 3-4 days really, maybe whole Europe. I am not sure what book I really look for. The reviews on Amazon were very mixed and I would love some advice from people who do go out and hike themselves and can recommend a guide book and why that particular one is good. Thanks very much.

Well, it's not a book, but it can help. You can find on the internet more then a dozen sites about hiking in Europe, and most of them are free. On those few paying sites you will also get a hiking map of UK and some cool stuff, totally free. If you really need some book, something to carry in your back pocket, I suggest you to find rear edition of "Hiking on the island", detailed guide to UK for hikers, published back in 1987!
