How big is your bag luggage?

I didn’t travel a long time by airplane and some time ago I found out that there are new luggage policies. Since in December I’m supposed to fly to Italy I was wondering how big should (and could) be my hand luggage. If somebody knows more about it, I would appreciate some information, thanks

Last September I went to Germany and I remember that my hand luggage was about 8 kg, but before me there were some girls who had more than 10 kg and were allowed to carry it on the plane. The dimensions were not to be bigger than 55x40x20 cm. I think that various companies have different regulations about hand luggage (sometimes it’s mentioned as a carry-on luggage) so you should check the one’s of the company you’re flying with.
