A bike trip across Australia

Hello all! I am wondering whether I could call on you people for some help and advice? This year we want to spend the whole summer doing a bike trip across Australia and we are really looking forward to the trip - it is the first time for us, in that part of the world! Would you have any suggestions for the trip?

Australia is a huge country and I am sure that cycling right across the country will take you much longer than the whole summer! I would therefore suggest that you put together your itinerary and, apart from the bikes, also rent a car! You can then cycle around the parts you think are the most interesting, to continue to another stretch by car, and then cycle again!
