Do I need Istanbul's Akbil electronic transit pass?

Hi,
I have decided to go to Turkey this summer. I really wanted to see this wonderful city and I am so excited. I have recently heard of Akbil electronic transit pass. I was wondering is this something that I will need while in Istanbul? Anyone has any suggestion for this?

Hello,
this electronic pass is really good solution for many thing s you would want to do in Istanbul. For example if you buy an Akbil pass you will be allowed to switch the transport means in Istanbul and some prices will be lower with Akbil electronic pass. You should buy one in the kiosk for the price of 10 dollars and 4,5$ deposit. It maybe isn't necessary but it sure is a useful thing.
