Can I use Akbil in Istanbul's private buses?

Hello everyone! I am going to see Istanbul for the first time next week and I am very excited because of this. But I have a question concerning transportation over there. I know that they use akbils in Istanbul, but I a not sure if I can use my akbil in private buses as well. Any information regarding this is helpful. Thanks!

Hay, as far as I know you can use your akbil in private buses just like in municipal ones. Furthermore, they are equally valid in trams and metro, and you might find them also very convenient for getting around the city. Otherwise, transportation system in Istanbul is really well organized and that should not be your main concern. If I were you, I would concentrate on my itinerary. I hope I helped a bit.
