Trip to Cambodia - How difficult is Khmer language?

I am going to over to Cambodia this summer and I am hoping to get some tips from you people. I think that I will spend a month or so over there, and am sure that not all that many people will be able to speak English over there. How difficult is the Khmer language? Perhaps I could learn it?

Come on! A month is much too short a time in which to learn a language, and trying to learn it before going over there, for such a short period of time, is not worth doing I think. Invest your money in a different way - get a guide that speaks English and will be your translator at the same time.
