How cheap is to live in Japan?

Is there anyone who lived in Japan for a while at least? And who would be kind enough to tell me if it is cheap to live in this country or not? And how cheap or expensive is it to live there? I am thinking of taking this course of Japanese, but since it lasts three or four months, it would mean that I would have to live there.

Japan is a very expensive city to live in. Actually, as far as I know, it is one of the most expensive cities for living. I don’t know how much money you are ready to spend on learning Japanese, but I don’t think it will pay off. I did not live there, but my sister does, and I am telling you this because I had this idea of moving to Japan, but she proved to me how bad choice it would be.
